An ideal natural moisturiser, it is found in cosmetics of all kinds. A natural preservative and anti-bacterial agent, beeswax is a time honoured cosmetics ingredient. It also acts as a humectant, drawing moisture into your skin. I should make it very clear that apparently the full ingredients list is available on the side of the package as is mandated in the EU.
However, by the time I realised this I had thrown away the package. I was planning to get the ingredients list online as I do with almost every other product I review. This was easier said than done with Mac! None of their ingredients lists can be found online.

I finally emailed them and received the list this way. This seems strange and a little shady to me. Why not list them online?
What are you afraid of, Mac? Nothing contained within was too toxic, so what gives? That said, one had an alarmingly high rating. There are a few other colour pigments with ratings This means that they can be moderately hazardous depending on the amount used and how. Over all, I do not think that this is a real hazard. I think that it is a safe product to use on facial skin. I always like the Mac packaging, which I think is timeless and chic. The boxes are sturdy without containing too much extra paper or materials. However, I am not thrilled with the containers as of late.
I have been using Mac shadow, blushes and highlighters for decades, and they have always had a clear hard plastic window at the top. Lately, these round plastic inserts have been popping out and refusing to pop back in.
A creamy formula that imparts colour and a sheer, dewy finish with various effects.
Maybe this is just me? It has happened to me three or four times this year. Overall, I really do recommend this product and I think most make up lovers will enjoy it and find it has many uses. A gorgeous and subtle colour, a rich yet light texture and long wearing effects — love it. I think that most make up wearers will end up reaching for this every day, because you can use it to jazz up almost any look. If you are going on a long holiday and can only choose a few products to take with you, this is definitely a multitasker.

Texture And Application. Purchase Experience And Price. Versatile and multi-purpose, Cream Colour Base can be applied directly to bare skin, or layered over foundation, moisturizer, or powder. Apply with a brush, sponge, or fingers. Colour effects range from a light veil to highly dramatic, depending on method of application. The following shades are not recommended for use in lip area: Fawntastic and Black. The following shades are not recommended for use in the eye area: Fabulush and Improper Copper. The cream base comes in a typical MAC blush-like round packaging — no mirror or applicator.
However, the content is less than a regular blush. Easy to use, easy to carry. On applying, it sets a little bit, so I do not see it transferring or moving around. Also if I try to build it up, it starts to look like an OTT shimmery layer on the face. I applied it, went to a restaurant for lunch, came back to see that none of the shell highlighter is to be seen, even though when I use it as an eye shadow, it stays on pretty well.
But as a face highlighter the staying power of mac cream base is really low. Still I try to work with Shell, and accordingly I find that it is the most gorgeous inner corner highlight ever for my eyes. Also fairs out decenty well as a brow bone highlighter, even though I prefer matte highlights for the brow bone.
About MAC Cream Color Base
Overall I would say that other shades from the same line are surely worth a try. Its a lovely shade, but not an impressive product overall. Nice review Lana recently posted… Spring-Summer Colors: This is great for highlighting under your brow bones for a pop, or you can swipe a little down the bridge of your nose to make it look higher.
I have even tried adding this to my liquid foundation to give my face a subtle luminous glow. CCBs are multi-taskers. As I usually say, any creativity is only limited by your own imagination! This will prolong its staying power, making blushes last all day. This creases on my lids.
Below are the swatches on my hand, one taken in natural light, the other using flash. All the colours are swatched heavily for you to have a better look. Just imagine applying a sheer coat of it.
